José Manuel Pérez Ovejas, the enologist of Bodegas Hnos. Pérez Pascuas gave the tasting where the following vintages of this mythical and world-wide well-know wine were assessed: * Pérez Pascuas Gran Selección 1994 * Pérez Pascuas Gran Selección 1995 * Pérez Pascuas Gran Selección 1996 * Pérez Pascuas Gran Selección 1999 * Pérez Pascuas Gran Selección 2001 * Pérez Pascuas Gran Selección 2003 The tasters from The Spanish Union of Wine Tasters could appreciate the characteristic of each wine from 1994 to 2003 harvest which will be put on the market in 2009. Each Pérez Pascuas shone by itself, but 2001 vintage received the most number of praises and was the favorite one for most of the wine tasters. Just in a few occasions, a verical tasting of Pérez Pascuas Gran Selección has been celebreted, Pérez Pascuas Gran Selección is considered as one of the greatest Spanish wine. The last vertical tasting was one year ago in Puerto Rico where more than 100 wine journalists were brought together. This supreme wine is just made when the harvest is excellent, exceptional harvest, and the grapes come from the oldest and most selected plots. This "Family Wine" reaches a very high price on the market. Its premium quality, together with a very limited production can really explain high prices on the market for this genuine and original "terroir wine". Bodegas Hnos. Pérez Pascuas was one of the first wineries to "bet on" premium wines made from very old vines and a very complex and difficult process. This vertical tasting was given according to the schedule of activities organized by the winery along 2007. |
