VINTAGE 2009, A HISTORICAL HARVEST FOR BODEGAS HNOS. PÉREZ PASCUAS.
Healthy grape and fantastic sugar level, a fabulous base for wines vintage 2009.

At the end of September, shorter and fresher days, red , green and yellow colors predominate on the scenery. Time for light, temperature and feelings changes … It is time for harvest.

September 25th , the harvest starts for Pérez Pascuas Brothers and the optimistic forecast regarding quality is confirmed. Excellent sanitary state and perfect ripeness.

The wait has come to the end. Benjamín, Manuel and Adolfo are ready for a frenetic work at vineyard and winery. Grape ripeness does not wait and each hour gone is vital at harvest time.

Pérez Pascuas family knows very well that men take part in the process on many different ways but is the harvest where the winemaker gets the most important factor: grape quality.


“The extraordinary grape picked is the result of a very hard and demanding work in the vineyard all the year around. A part from that, we must say this year we have been lucky with weather, the weather has been perfect for the whole season, and the result of it all is exceptcional. It will be a vintage to remember , we trust on the goodness of this 2009 harvest. We will get superb ageable wines” says Benjamín.

Once grape is in the winery and the smell of grape juice starting the fermentation, José Manuel Pérez Ovejas, Benjamin’s son, enologist and technical director of Bodegas Hnos. Pérez Pascuas and the rest of the team, work without rest. It is time to bring under control densities and temperatures of fermentation. A close and constant tracking of every single stage of the vinification process will determine the resulting wine. “ A well coordinate team work from the vine to the bottle explains the excellence on Viña Pedrosa wine” states José Manuel.
