| Chinese wine market shows interest in the wines made by Pérez Pascuas brothers. |

Many kilometres run by some of the most influential chinese politicians to visit the Pérez Pascuas Winery placed in Pedrosa de Duero, “Heart of Ribera del Duero appellation”. Jaime Postigo and his wife, came with the group to know how Viña Pedrosa wine are made. Adolfo Pérez, the youngest of the three brothers, and his son Daniel, showed the Chinese delegation the 135 hectares of own vineyard, being this estate one the oldest and also one of the biggest in the whole Ribera del Duero appellation. Daniel explained them the importance of old vines and just own grapes as excellent raw material to make premium wines. Most of the visitors were surprised by the excellence on the job carried out on the vineyard. Once in the winery, José Manuel Pérez Ovejas, Benjamin’s son, enologist and technical director, showed them the winery facilities. He stressed the importance of a close and continuos monitoring of the vinification process, stressing the relevance of new barrels of French and American oak for wine ageing. The president of the Spirit Drink Industries Association made a comparison between the winemaking process and wine ageing in China and the technique used in Ribera del Duero. During the winetasting had the opportunity to tate every single wine made by Pérez Pascuas Brothers: *CEPA GAVILAN: The freshest and youngest wine, fruity strong character. *VIÑA PEDROSA CRIANZA: One of the most classic wines, excellent balance between oak and fruit. *VIÑA PEDROSA RESERVA: Superb combination between Tinto Fino and Cabernet Sauvignon. Complex and elegant. *VIÑA PEDROSA GRAN RESERVA: Explosion of aromas and flavours. Surprising wine even for most discerning palates. *FINCA LA NAVILLA: Fresh, powerful and elegant. Attracted the attention of all the wine professionals. *PÉREZ PASCUAS GRAN SELECCIÓN: The masterpiece of Pérez Pascuas brothers. A real delight for the senses. “For us it has been a privilege such an important visit at the winery and it is a great satisfaction to know that our wines are very interesting and attractive to the Chinese market” stated Adolfo Pérez Pascuas. All the members of the Chinese delegation agreed on pointed out that all the wines made by this historical winery in Ribera del Duero have strong personality and a well-defined style, and every single person praised the aesthetic and functional qualities of this winery. “ Now we know the vineyard, the wine cellar and the owners, and we must say that the excellence on their wines are their high quality winemaking standards” stressed the Chinese wine professionals. |
