Bachelor’s degree in town-planning at Tufts University and Bachelor’s degree in nursing at Massachussets University in Lowell, Alan Salomont has devoted his professional career to medical and elder care. He has been working as chairman of the corporation for National and Community Servicie until his appointment. In January 2010, the current ambassador presents his credential letters to the king of Spain Juan Carlos I, starting a new stage on his professional career. He is an enthusiastic of wine as an important part of the Spanish culture, the ambassador showed interest in knowing the wine making process, “Bodegas Hnos. Pérez Pascuas is the first winery I visit in Spain, I was very interesting in meeting Pérez Pascuas family because I knew they make top quality wines well-know worldwide, that is why I have considered convenient to visit this pioneer and brilliant winery in Ribera del Duero”said Alan Solomont. During the tasting, the ambassador enjoyed Cepa Gavilán, Viña Pedrosa Crianza, Finca La Navilla and Pérez Pascuas Gran Selección wine. Astonished at the great virtues of Viña Pedrosa Gran Reserva wine, Alan Solomont signed one of the barrels of Viña Pedrosa Gran Reserva 2009. Vintage 2009 was labelled excellent by the Regulatory Council of Ribera del Duero. The ambassador of EE.UU. in Spain, his wife, Susan, the embassy adviser minister, Arnold Chacón, the office box, Jenny Cordell and the translator, Virgina Ghent, stated their interest in coming back again to the winery at harvest time. “Viña Pedrosa wines premium quality, gorgeous vineyard and winery, and the close and friendly treating, have turned our visit to the winery into an unforgettable experience”. |
